you tube

ok I loved exploring youtube. Funny stuff. Of course I love to laugh at myself so being a blonde I loved this clip check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAs8_N_tDoE

Seriously though, youtube is great for the library. Unfortunately we have more and more patrons accustomed to using computers/television than books for resources this is a great source for information on just about any subject. Also, as a children's librarian, I can import great clips/sounds for my various skits.

Oh and why is youtube so popular? Well why not, it allows you to see just about anything you have missed on television. As a dancing with the stars nut, I can see any dance performance I missed over and over. Why subscribe to expensive cable providers when you have youtube! Love it.

yes they do!

If you haven't guessed, I am a pug lover. I currently have 2 pugs appropriately named clover and teacup.

This flickr website is awesome. I will use it often as a children's librarian for creating posters, or editing my own photos from library events.

bloglines! check it out!!

In completion of 2.oh task #4. Here is a list of RSS feeds I have chosen:

Librarians' Internet Index - gives you a link to the newest websites available.

NOAA's National Weather Service Headlines - track the lates in weather from around the world.

The Shifted Librarian - Gives links to sites that tell you about how other libraries in the nation are making themselves better through technology, mergers, etc.

About Literature - Book reviews of the latest books

The Budget Fashionista - Articles on how to look good on a budget - tips on what/what not to wear. Where to find the lastest fashions on a budget.

2 work related sites I will use:

About Literature - This will help me to be more informed on different titles without having to read every book in the library; so I will be more informed when patrons need help picking out books.

The Shifted Librarian - This will help me contribute better in staff meetings by giving me inovative ideas to add to discussions on library improvement.
